Welcome back CCPS!

It's our first week of school for the 2025-26 school year. We're excited to welcome you and 64,000 students back to classes.

  • Grades 1-5, 6 and 9 begin Monday, Aug. 18

  • Grades 7-8, 10-12 begin Tuesday, Aug. 19

  • Prekindergarten and kindergarten students start on different days:

    • Some students attend Aug. 18-19; others attend Aug. 20-21.

    • Schools assign students to specific days to allow students to become more familiar with their new surroundings in a smaller classroom setting.

    • Starting Aug. 22, all prekindergarten and kindergarten students attend daily.

Make sure to check our calendars page for important dates.

Families can visit the CCPS back-to-school hub for  transportation information, Chromebook details, fee payments, supply lists and more.

Have a student who is ready to start school? Families can still register their little ones for kindergarten.

We hope you have a great first week and a wonderful school year!

Car rider reminders 2024-25 For the safety of all of our students and staff, please do the following: In the morning: Have your student exit on the passenger side once you have REACHED THE SIDEWALK. Please do not get out of your car. If your student needs assistance please let an adult on duty know. Do not turn left off of Coalfield Rd; join the car rider line and enter by turning right. We are getting complaints from the neighborhood about blocking Coalfield Road and EMS vehicles won’t be able to get through if our procedures aren’t followed. Do not drop off in the parking lot or on Coalfield Rd. If you choose to park, please park in the parking lot, walk your student(s) to the sidewalk then they can walk on their own. Dropping off in the parking lot for students to walk alone is not acceptable. Please do not enter the drop off line after parking in the lot. Please be patient and pull all the way up to allow the most cars to unload as possible. Make sure your student has their bookbag, lunch, coat, hat, gloves and everything ready to exit the car once you are at the sidewalk. In the afternoon: YOU MUST PHYSICALLY HAVE YOUR CAR RIDER NUMBER. Please be here BY 4:10. If you are not here by 4:10 you will need to go to the office to get your student. We understand things come up however if this becomes a pattern you will be asked to have your student ride the bus or enroll in the Y program. We cannot have our office stay late to supervise students. The gym doors will open once most of the students are seated in the gym. You will enter and go right. YOU MUST PHYSICALLY HAVE YOUR CAR RIDER NUMBER. Photos on your phone or copies will not be accepted. This is for the safety of ALL students. If you do not have your car rider number you will be asked to wait until those that have them have been through. Once your number is entered you will proceed to the right and walk around the perimeter of the gym toward the other end of the gym. Students will join you as you walk. Once you have your student a staff member will be checking to see if the band on the student’s backpack matches the car rider number. Have your student wear their backpack until you have exited the gym. Please be prepared to exit with your students backpack band and your card ready for staff to check. Please be patient as staff can only check one family at a time to ensure the numbers match.
